To achieve these goals, a concept of 5.5G Core Network is introduced. 5.5G Core Network, integrating DT, OT,IT,CT and other key technologies, is a transitory stage of 5GC (5G Core Network). With the guidance of 5G-Advanced White Paper, 5GC will be evolved to 5.5G Core Network with three characteristics: ultradistribution, intelligence and integration.
1. Ultradistribution
With the development of 5G technology, a large amount of 5G application scenarios in various industries are exploited. 5GC needs the ultradistributed architecture with concentrated control plane and tailor-made user plane in vertical direction rather than the architecture of distributed deployment. Evolving from 5GC, 5.5G will offer max bandwidth, low latency, highly-precise location, 5GLAN, edge computing and other capabilities, enabling XR services and other practical applications.
2. Intelligence
By introducing AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology to Core Network, 5.5G can achieve the intelligence of better network operation, which can simplify the complex forms of the network. The Dynamic Slicing Technology operated by AI can support all sorts of vertical private network of different industries, meeting the specific needs of diverse industries.
3. Integration
To exert the value of 5G network in the maximum, compared to the functions of 5GC, 5.5G Core Network will support the integrated accessing of 2G/3G/4G/5G system, diverse accessing of the critical IoT networks in edge side and the integrated accessing with satellite network. All of these functions drive the network to operate effectively in a concise architecture.
