The latest report from GSA shows that by the end of May 2020, 42 countries and regions around the world have launched 81 commercial 5G networks.
By the end of May 2020, 386 operators around the world have announced investment in 5G. Among them, 81 operators in 42 countries and regions have launched one or more 5G services that support the 3GPP standard.
Of these, 73 operators have launched 3GPP-compliant 5G mobile services (67 have fully launched services, 6 have limited services), and 39 operators have launched 3GPP-compliant 5G FWA or home broadband services (33 have fully launched services and 6 have limited services).
At present, 5g spectrum is mainly used in several key frequency bands.
n77 and n78 are the most frequently used bands, and 173 operators are currently investing in these bands.
By the end of May 2020, GSA had confirmed that 173 operators had invested in the C-band, especially the n77 and n78 bands. Of these, 83 operators of them are deploying networks in the n77 or n78 band. 123 operators have invested in 24.25-29.5GHz (i.e n257, n258 or n261 band).
